    HER Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah was feted to a reception to celebrate her 27th birthday yesterday.

    The ceremony was hosted by the Brunei Ladies Golf Association (BLGA) yesterday at the RadissonHotel in the capital.

    Her Royal Highness’s birthday is on April 9.

    Upon arrival at the venue, Her Royal Highness, who is the patron of BLGA, was greeted by the association’s chairperson Datin Seri Utama Hjh Rosnah Abdullah.

    A group photo session with Her Royal Highness was also held at the lobby area followed by a meet-and-greets session with members of the BLGA.

    In her welcoming remarks, Datin Hjh Rosnah on behalf of BLGA expressed her appreciation to Her Royal Highness for the continuous support to the association.

    “BLGA remains true to its aim to promote the game of golf among ladies in Brunei Darussalam and to encourage our members to take part in competitions both inside and outside Brunei Darussalam,” she said.

    Last month, BLGA hosted the 16th Borneo Ladies Golf Tournament from March 24-27 during which Brunei team won the challenge trophy. Around 80 golfers participated in the event.

    The BLGA was also active last year with members taking part in the Chairlady’s Trophy in March, Panaga Open in June, Inter-Club in Miri in October, and the ASEAN International Interport in Kuala Lumpur in November.

    The highlight of the event was the cake-cutting ceremony which was followed by the handing over of a pesambah by the BLGA to Her Royal Highness.
