THE global media company A+E Networks Asia is currently preparing a special documentary on His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the history of the Sultanate.
A team of four representing the company from Singapore were in Brunei Darussalam for five days last week.
Led by its Executive Producer Chris Humphrey, the team had the opportunity to take footages of the meet and greet session at the Istana Nurul Iman as hundred thousands of well-wishers personally conveyed their Hari Raya greetings to His Majesty, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hjh Saleha and members of the Royal Family. "We are here making the very start of the documentary on His Majesty for our special show and this is a great place to start," Humphrey told The Brunei Times, on the sidelines of his activity in filming the open house at Istana.
The footages of the meet and greet session at the Istana will be part of the documentary. Humphrey, who has only been in Brunei for the first time, said that the team will be making several trips to the Sultanate in the near future before the documentary on the monarch and the country will be completed.
"We will mix the show with the history (of Brunei) and at the same time we want to cover more events," he said, adding that the programme will be aired regionally. "We will come back a few times to explore (the country)," he said.
He stressed the importance of Hari Raya Aidil Fitri coverage at the Istana, where His Majesty and the Royals met with the people.
He explained that his part is still making a schedule of what to cover and when they will come back for the next three or four trips.
The programme will be aired in the television through its networks channels in the region, but no specific time was disclosed.

Brunei y Singapur reafirmaron su cálida amistad y los lazos fuertes durante una jornada de puertas abiertas organizada por el Ministro de Industria y Recursos Primarios ( MIPR ) de Secretario Parlamentario Superior de Singapur de Desarrollo Nacional y de Defensa , el Dr. Mohamad Maliki Osman . celebrada en la residencia del MIPR ministro , el Dr. Maliki y su esposa, Puan Sadiah Shahal , fueron recibidos por Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Hj Yahya Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar y su familia.
